Martha my dear....

I watched a bit of Martha Stewart's Apprentice and the conclusion I came to is that: It combines the refined style of Audrey Hepburn with the brutal efficiency of Nazi Germany.
I mean it's difficult to call Martha evil, mainly because evil is supposedly banal.
I would call it unsettling, or sad.

Dead Like Me is so much better than Six Feet Under, mainly because Six Feet Under gives me the worst anxiety attacks, it's so god damn pessimistic, yes we're all going to die. Jesus as a people we need a T.V. show to keep reminiding us? Dead Like Me at least has a light air of hope to it, even if the pretenses are false.

The Night the Arcade Fire Burnt Down the House

Last Wenesday the Arcade Fire played a show in Calgary, (10/05/05) and I made a setlist in the back of the concert hall while making sure my friend didn't swallow her tongue in an alcoholic coma:

1. Wake Up
2. Neighborhood #2 (Laika)
3. No Cars
4. Haiti
5. Sleeping in Submarines
6. Neighborhood # 4 (7 Kettles)
7. State Trooper (Springsteen Cover, performed with lead singer of Wolf Parade)
8. Crown of Love
9. Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)
10. Rebellion (Lies)
Encore
11. Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)
12. Age of Consent (New Order cover)
The band proceeded to walk out into the lobby and then played:
13. Kiss Off (Violent Femmes cover)

The Wolf Parade also played unfortunately I only knew about half the bucking songs, which were still pretty good. The Belle Orchestre also played, it was all instrumental, needless to say I spent that time at the beer gardens.

It was my second time seeing them, and in all honesty it was probably better than the first time.
The only bad thing to come of the concert is the fact that everyone and the Jones' have a god damn shirt now, which you can only get at concerts. I had to go to a concert in Washigton to get mine, I EARNED it you posers.
